The hallway was extremely echoy as we walked down it huddled together. Dust hung in the air; we could see it in the beam of light given off by the flashlight. According to the building's history (which was framed neatly over the front doors), it used to be a part of the hospital's infirmary until it was closed. The building had stood empty for ten years, but then a wealthy man named Joseph Anderson bought it, renovated it, and named it the Baxter Christian Academy, intending it to be the finest school in the area. In those days, everyone was kind, and the head of the school himself was very accepting of everyone no matter what. After that bit, the writing ended, but I knew the rest of the story when the vice principal told me after my first day here.

The rest of the morning passed in a complete blurb of anxiety and worry on my part. Gunvor and I had to carry Sigrún down to the nurse's office before she fainted from sheer terror before we went off to our first class.
